This is the largest of the Annal family groups. The earliest known ancestor is Robert Annal who was born in 1779 and lived in the South parish of South Ronaldsay. Robert is said to have been the illegitimate son of Peter Annal (see Group C).
After marrying Barbara Wishart in 1803, he went on to have no fewer than 13 children. Descendants of these children have spread around the world with individuals living in Orkney, Liverpool, USA, Australia and Argentina today.
