This is one of the smallest Annal family Groups. They are descended from a Magnus Annal who was born around 1780 in South Ronaldsay. Magnus’s illegitimate son, John Annal, had a large family and John’s oldest son, also John Annal, emigrated to Oswego, NY sometime in the 1850s.
This younger John is the ancestor of a large branch of Annals in the USA, whose story is told here by Chuck Annal.
