Group E

This branch of the family can be traced back to a James Annal who was born sometime around 1740. His son, John Annal, was baptised at St Peter’s, South Ronaldsay in 1769.

Two of John’s sons moved to England and settled in the Greenwich/Gravesend area. The story of one of John’s grandsons, William Annal, is told here. There are no Annals from this branch in Orkney today; the last male descendant died in 1886.
